What this service is

orion.directory hosts a single page of links at an address you choose, and shows you how that page is doing. It is an independent service: not operated by, partnered with, or endorsed by Orion.

Your account

You need a working email address, and you must be at least 13. Keep access to that mailbox — sign-in works by emailed link, so whoever can read your email can reach your account.

Your page belongs to you

Everything you put on your page stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to people who visit your page, and to make the ordinary technical copies that hosting requires — nothing more. We do not get a licence to use your name, your words, or your pictures to promote anything, and we will not put advertising on your page.

You are responsible for what you publish, including having the right to publish it.

What you may not do here

• Link to malware, phishing, or anything designed to defraud.
• Impersonate someone else, or pretend your page is official when it is not.
• Publish anything illegal where you are, or where we operate.
• Attack the service — scraping it at volume, breaking rate limits, probing for holes.
• Register handles you have no intention of using, in order to sell them.

Anyone can report a page, and reports are reviewed by a person. A page that breaks these rules can be unpublished. Unpublishing hides the page; it does not delete your work, and it can be undone.

Handles

Some handles are reserved and cannot be claimed — the ones that would let a stranger's page pose as part of the service (security, verify, billing and their relatives). A handle is yours while your account is open. If you close your account, it goes back into circulation.

Ending this

You can leave whenever you like, and you do not have to ask. Download your data from Settings, then delete your page or your whole account.

From our side: we will suspend or close an account for the reasons in What you may not do here, or if we are legally required to. When we do, we will tell you what happened and why, at the address we have for you, and — except where the law forbids it or the account was used to harm people — you get your data first. We are writing that down because it is the kind of promise that is easy to make and easy to quietly drop, and our own comparison page criticises other services for vagueness here.

If we ever shut the service down, we will give notice and leave the export working until the last day.

What we do not promise

The service is provided as it is. We try to keep it up and we do not guarantee it. Links you add point at other people's sites, which we do not control and are not responsible for.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us — which, while the service is free, is nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, and where that is true, they do not apply to you.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so before it takes effect and update the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after that means the new version applies.

Law

These terms run under the law of [NEEDS-CHELSEA: governing law — state / country]. Nothing here removes a consumer protection you have where you live.
